The Bounty

Inspiration for "The Bounty" comes from the beautiful rocks and shells that line seacoasts, lakes and riverbeds. Look closely, and you'll see the bounties of nature. 

The soft pastel brands I used were Henri Roche, Unison, Terry Ludwig, Schmincke, Prismacolor Nupastels, and Faber-Castell Polychromos pastels.

First Place Award winner in the Pastel/Graphics category during the 2026 Thousand Oaks Art Association Open Juried Show. Comment from show judge Mike Hernandez: "The collection of shells and stones is rendered with such care that each object feels tactile and distinct, while the composition transforms ordinary natural forms into something jewel-like and luminous."
