This piece is a part of a series of seaside rocks. Inspiration comes from the beautiful beaches in Central California. Perhaps when we're gone, we leave an imprint of our voices on the rocks that remain behind.
The soft pastel brands I used were Unison, Mount Vision, Holbein and Schmincke. For the tiny detail work, I used Faber-Castell Polychromos pastels and Stabilo CarbOthello pastel pencils.
Shown and Sold during the 2023 Pastel Society of Colorado's 19th Annual Mile High International Pastel Exhibition, which was at the Curtis Center for the Arts in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
